Frequently asked questions
Getting started
An overview of the app, its plans, and how to add it to Teams is at worldtimefinder.app/microsoft-teams.
Why am I seeing sample data?
The app shows sample coworkers and calendar events instead of your own until three things are in place: your organization has a subscription, you hold one of its seats, and the app has been granted access to your Microsoft 365 data. Without a seat, you also can't add cities. The banner or notice in the app tells you which step is missing:
- Subscribe: your organization has no subscription yet. The button opens Microsoft's purchase page. Plans are per user, with a 30-day free trial.
- All seats are in use: seats go automatically to the first people in your organization who open the app, up to the number purchased. Ask whoever manages the subscription to add seats.
- Grant access: see the next question.
Why does the app ask me to grant access?
To draw the timeline, WorldTimeFinder Pro reads your profile and mailbox time zone, the basic profile and time zone of people you work with, and your own calendar, and it saves the meetings you create to your calendar. It does this through Microsoft Graph, which needs your permission once: choose Grant access and confirm in the Microsoft window. If your organization only lets administrators approve apps, Microsoft shows a "Need admin approval" screen instead; depending on your organization's settings you can request approval there, or ask your Microsoft 365 administrator. An administrator can grant access for everyone when activating the subscription or later in Microsoft Entra ID.
A coworker shows no time zone.
Their mailbox time zone may not be set, or your organization may not let others read it. People outside your organization never show a time zone. Coworkers can set a time zone in Outlook under Settings > General > Language and time.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions purchased through Microsoft Marketplace are managed in the Microsoft 365 admin center under Billing > Your products, where you can change the number of seats. Cancelling there stops future charges and deactivates the app for your organization.
Something else?
Whatever it is, write to contact@outgrow.io. Bug reports, feature requests, and billing questions all land in the same inbox and are read by the people who build the app.
